Need Opinions on 2012 Honda Accord
Hey guys, I'm looking into buying my mom a car because her current one got destroyed by the storm last month. She needs something REALLY simple that can take her from point A to point B. No frills or luxuries, just a simple car that can turn on and off with ac and a radio. I was thinking about getting her an accord. I remember I had one in high school with 200,000+ miles and used to hoon the sh!t out of it every day and it still ran strong until the day I decided to pit it against a Ford Explorer...and lost.
What do you guys think of the Accord for my mom? She never drives, her 6 year old SUV had 35,000 miles on it...she could care less about cars, she though my M3 was a mercedes for a couple months. I just want to get her something simple and reliable. I would much rather get the opinions of my fellow M3Posters than biased car reviewers.. |

sounds like you need a simple people mover. Why an accord?
If size/looks don't matter, you can get her a civic, fit, corolla etc. They're alot less expensive. Unless you're looking for something bigger, then an accord or camry works. |

Yeah size is a big issue for her. Not that she uses the extra space but she feels safer in a bigger car. I know that this is not necessarily true but she's my mom and I can't really argue with her.

lol yea i hear you. My dad is the same way. The bigger the car the safer it is in his opinion.
I like the accord myself. I only see good reviews on it, plus it's reliable, safe and gets good mileage. |

Hi, from my experience the new Accords don't wear we'll, poor paint especially and the engine parts tend to rust quite badly. Viewed 4 2009 cars recently for a neighbour to purchase and they were all very poor.

Yeah, if you just need a large appliance, it's hard to beat a Camry. No fun and some chintzy interior bits, but it will be no fun and chintzy for a long, long time.
