When I go on vacation I don't like to do shit. I don't want any activities or excursions or any of that shit. That is work, I'm on vacation. Now if I was retired and was going on vacation for several months then maybe, but given that I am not and I only have a couple weeks to rest that's what I like to do.
Last year went to Mexico to one of those all inclusive resorts and I must say I had a great time. I did nothing all day, sat by the pool/beach drinking mojitos most of the day. I was expecting the food to be blah for an all inclusive but it was actually pretty good. They also had a nice cigar shop in the resort, which although overpriced, I did enjoy. Planning to go back in Sept. One of my other favorite places to go is Vegas. |

Just came back from a week in Rome. I also went to all over northern Italy last spring (Bologna, Sirmione, Ferrara, Siena, Venice, Milan, Florence). My wife works for an Italian company so we get to go every year but it is an amazing country to visit. Great scenery, great people, great food, great history. Can't say enough about it.
Before that: Kauai (favorite tropical desintation) - got married there Maui Turks & Caicos (best quick getaway destination for east coasters) Isla Mujeres - Mexico Cabo San Lucas (worst destination I've ever been to) Dominica St.Thomas St.John Antigua twice London Costa Rica A couple from Rome: A few from Sirmione:

Got back from Barbados a couple weeks ago. Stayed at a great all inclusive place for five days with my girlfriend. Food was good, people were very friendly and overall had a great time. Did some jet skiing, snorkling (ship wrecks were right off shore which was cool), swimming with sea turtles which was SICK and water skiing. Other than that I sat on my a55 and enjoyed doing nothing with a rum and coke in my hand. Stayed at the Club, resort and spa. I would recommend it to anyone.
Every summer I usually go to Malta. This is the first summer in over ten years that I couldn't go. I'm from there so it has a special spot in my heart. Other places: Tremblant - skiing obviously Puerto Rico - rainforest, gambling, bars, new years party (awesome new years party hosted by Bacardi) and Old San Juan Cancun - spring break so I don't remember much : ) Rome Paris London Amsterdam Vienna Holland Scotland, Glasgow and edinburgh Malta Malta Malta Did I say that I love going to malta!!! Future plans are a cruise out of NYC through the caribbean in august, Peru over winter vacation and Spain followed by Malta next summer. All of which i'm really looking forward to. |

Last big trip I went on was down to St.Lucia (kicked off the efforts to have a kid )
Great place, gorgeous, and alot to do. Beaches are public so you will get tons of ppl offering you drugs and alot of pick pockets as well. If you go, the big must are zipline in the rain forest and touring the country side. Here are some pics from our stay at the Sandals Resort: Picture from on the way to hotel: Pics of our room and view: |

My wife is pushing for hawaii or europe. Just hard to spend that much money for me on a vacation when I can vacation to the keys or something in florida for cheap.

Just got back from Vegas. Going to Alaska for 2 weeks in August.
I despise this [typical American] mentality. Caribbean anything doesn't compare to Hawaii, and Florida just sucks.

Oh, I wonder... The red light district has nothing to do with your trip there I am sure.

South Africa was my favorite vacation I have ever been on. I dont have any pictures on this computer but its gorgeous, Cape Town is colorful, the beaches are endless. And the mountain biking and hiking was an absolute blast.
Next vacation for me is a roadtrip all around the USA |

I was recently in India (Kolkata) for about a month.
Traveling to India (especially a place like Kolkata) has two benefits, IMO 1) After roughing it in a 3rd world nation for so long, simply coming back home feels like an everlasting 'vacation' You start to appreciate things like being surrounded by clean, well-paved streets in the U.S. or U.K. 2) The cost of living in India is ridiculously cheap. It's not unusual for a taxi fare to be anywhere from $0.50 to $2. |
