military ??
i have been in for ten plus, and i have had a few people ask me how can you afford a BMW? Kinda pisses me off .......... why should we not be able..... Ten years in with no new cars ! When i do get a new car ..... people say to me if you are just serving your country why should you have that much money ........ im in the air force and as of now i have not seen fire (thank god)but good god why would it not be ok for us to have that kinda money? When i hear "just serving your country" ......... not sooooo much for me but good god i think all the marines and army guys should all be rollin in bmw's ...... sumthins wrong when its ok for a dude who can catch a football to make multi millions ........ but people who put it all on the line ........ well ......... it angers me at least all of my soldiers and marines should be rollin in m6's ......... just a thought ......... right or wrong they are taking fire ........... and you question the fact they might drive a bimmer .......... have any of you seen this??

Holy mother of god. I couldn't get myself to read all of that. My head started to hurt.
As far as pay, I wouldn't really care what anyone thinks. If someone wants to trade places and go to iraq, I am more than able to be a civilian network admin in the states. We choose our jobs and we get payed what we get payed.

Wow, I really wouldn't let it bother me either. I am in the Army and as long as you budget and plan you can afford anything you want.

lol i'm pretty sure almost anybody can join the army now. i mean without any serious disabilites... and this thread is pretty pointless cause we all know why soldiers dont get to drive m6s.

You would be surprised on how much you can save in Iraq on your fourth tour with some of the extra pay that you get and the bonuses right now that the Army is giving away to keep people in. Trust me it will be enough and it is enough for a Soldier to drive a M6 or any car they choose for that matter. Just take a trip to a military base near you and you will be truly surprised what kind of cars Soldiers are driving these days.

I wasn't refering to the younger Soldiers. Just on R&R we had a young Soldier that spent their bonus money in one day on a truck, motorcycle and ATV.

Ah yeah thats true. How could I forget my friend. He got his bonus and then the next day got a brand new Harley for $32k. I guess if you save from multiple deployments then you could get a M6. $100k is no joke.

And for many honorable positions, some get paid less than what their job is truly worth. Like those in the service for our country. I, for one, do not begrudge you whatever the government is paying you, Mike, and suspect that you probably deserve more. Enjoy your bimmer, and don't let others rob you of that joy. |
