The electric 1 series looked so much nicer than the i3. Too bad they are no longer available.
I haven't driven it nor the new i-series, but cannot image the i3 handling as well as the 1 series, either. But maybe it will be nicer and better than other stuff in that middle price category. And maybe the next gen will be more appealing. Frankly, at the top end, I'd get a Tesla, and at the lower end, I'd get the Fiat, unless I needed more room and didn't care about performance (in which case there are lots of uninteresting but completely serviceable options). The i3 doesn't hit the sweet spot for me.

I've said it before, that darn i3 looks like a space toaster. Should I ever go insane and believe myself to be a slice of bread, I'll buy an i3 to drive myself to the insane asylum ...

Great technological innovations but not much of what BMW WAS about.
According to some articles I have read, BMW put over a Billion dollars investments into the i3, investing in this over all other product lines. They better sell allot of them for that kind of dough.

I'll be interested in electric cars when the range increases and there are enough charging points to "fill up and go" anytime, anywhere. Hopefully carmakers get over this urge to give electric cars funky (and usually ugly) styling. I don't mid the styling of the i3 (compared to say, the Leaf) but i don't think its as good looking as the rest of the BMW range.
