Seeing that we all share common like/love for BMW, i was curious if any of you guys/girls collect anything?
I've been collecting, buying selling, trading Jordan gym shoes since about 9th grade. *this is about 1/10 of what I have laying around @ my house* |

I have around 150+ shoe collection. I'm trying to sell majority of the jordans. Maybe keep all the jordans from 1999-2008 and nike basketball shoes (lebrons,kd, kobes and foams). Just because those might be worth a lot more in 5 years. Also have a little gun collection 4 AR's,1 ak, 1 acr,1 mossy 930 and a few handguns.

I never understood the shoe collecting thing. Especially those who just keep them in the boxes where you can't even look at and admire them. Worked with a guy while I was in Germany who had a huge collection of shoes just stacked up in boxes. Just not my thing I guess although it is more common than I had thought.
I started collecting 1:43 scale model cars when I was stationed in Germany. Started as just a couple cars from the Porsche, Mercedes and BMW museums. Then I bought a bunch more when I went to Nurburgring and even more when I went to the Frankfurt Auto show. From Frankfurt From German museums

Is that the living room of your house just full of shoes? With all of the duplicates, are you treating them as an investment or are you a hoarder?

I do sell/trade a lot of my shoes, in fact I sold off about 1/3 of my collection (130 pairs) to pay off my student loans from college. The shoe thing is a lot different than it was 2-3 years ago, general release stuff is even hard to get, and everything seems to sell for over retail, unfortunately. I mainly get duplicates so I can wear one and not have to worry if they get messed up. In the sneaker community the saying is "1 to rock 1 to stock" I usually say "1 to rock 3,4,5 to stock" Shoes have been a great investment for me, shoes that have cost me anywhere from $114.00-$250.00 I have sold for $400-$2300. |

No pictures but Ive got a little collection of large framed and signed plaques of Yzerman, Barry Sanders, Chris Osgood, and Nicholas Lindstrom. Also have a signed glove by Ernie Harwell, and a few other misc. items.
A few scaled cars like an NSX, Audi R8, Viper GTS, and a couple others. I would like to expand on this a little more though. Maybe as a little christmas gift to myself. |

I don't get the fascination either. I do hope they are able to profit from them in some way in the future.
Collecting memorabilia makes sense to me, rare coins/currency, scale cars, art, antiques, ancient artifacts, guns, knives, even stamps all make sense to me. But a pair of nikes made by an 8 year old asian kid for $.12 an hour makes no sense to me at all. Unless they were signed by Jordan of course.

I'm starting to collect beer koozys. My wife hates it and I rarely use them (which qualifies it as a collection) but they're a cheap little things that remind me of my childhood.
