How bad has this winter been for your State?
Record cold temperatures and record snowfall totals here in the Hoosier State.
Although it was rather balmy this morning. Feels like -20° F with winds gusting up to 35 mph. Could have another 8 inches of snow by Monday morning. Joy. How bad has this winter been for the rest of you guys?

It's been cold here but mostly single digits. Nothing sub-zero aside from the windchills. We got about 10" of snow on Tuesday.

Weekend/extended forecast: 1. Bitterly cold temperatures tonight with low temperatures again dropping below zero and wind chill values as low as -15 to -20 by Friday morning. 2. A strong clipper will bring 2-4" of snow to Northern and Central Indiana starting after about 8:00 PM on Friday. The heaviest snow will fall between 10:00 PM on Friday and 6:00 AM on Saturday. Strong winds (gusts of 35-50 mph) will create whiteout conditions, blowing and drifting will many roads will become impassible. 3. Another strong clipper will arrive later in the day on Sunday and into Sunday Night. We expect another round of 2-4" . . . . Strong winds will also be possible with this system. Blowing and drifting, whiteout conditions and impassible roads are likely again. 4. The coldest air of the season will strike Indiana starting on Monday and should last until at least Thursday. 5. Another clipper will bring more snow to the area by next Thursday. Sounds great.

Haha I would take that in a heartbeat at this point. But for Cali, I agree, that's definitely not the norm.

Will pale in comparison to you guys up north but we've already dipped below freezing here several times here in New Orleans. Not unusual to have it have once every winter but already happened with a couple of cold fronts and supposed to have a couple of nights below freezing again early next week.
Kind of like KwlAznKid, we are cold weather pussies down hear. Rain, wind, the ocassional hurricane, no problem! But cold, I'll pass. Our old (100 years) house is built off the ground to avoid flooding and to allowing cooling in the hot summer months. When it gets colds, these old houses are cold and drafty...

When I visited family Michigan over the holidays it dropped to about -3° one night, other than that was mostly single digits.
Its been a rather cold winter down here in NC, also. Lowest its dropped to around RDU on my temp reading was about 9° one night, but we've also had days were it reached 62° last week. Seems to be sitting pretty stable in the high teens and 20's between Durham and Roxboro. However, being from MI, I am used to the cold, so I usually just wear a hooded sweatshirt while all the southerners are bundled up like its the end of the world. Ready for Spring to bring its beautiful face around so I can start riding the bike to work again. |

We've had two storms which both dropped about 8-10" but we had almost 3 feet of snow in one storm last year and the day after Christmas a few years back we had another 2 footer. In my prior 28 some-odd years, accumulation over a foot was pretty rare.

Florida has BY FAR been hit the worst! I've had to wear a jacket at least 8 times already this winter!

It's been a pretty mild winter for the Denver and front range area of Colorado while the mountains have been getting more consistent snow. The weather really does fluctuate around here. For example, we got some snow yesterday and now today it is going to be close to 60 degrees.

It's been pretty darn nice here in CO. A few cold spells, good snow, still plenty of sun - the ski resorts are at about normal snowfall totals after a pretty lean winter last season.

I'm in Norwalk and we got about 8-10" and my family in Ridgefield had 10ish as well. Hell, they had a surprise storm last weekend that dropped several inches and I only got rain down by the water.

Been very warm in San Francisco. We broke a record for a high daily temperature a week or so ago. People are out at the beach in tank tops and flip flops.
Hardly any snow in the Sierras to ski on. Would like to enjoy a cold winter someday. |
