As I said, building your own computer will typically be $100-$200 cheaper. It is whether the after purchase support is worth it to you or not, and whether you want to spend the time on it is when building something happens to go wrong.

Alienware, like all PC Boutiques have their purpose. Don't need to knock it just because you've outgrown the market they cater to. I also doubt 90% of the DIY market spends any time at all actually testing systems and components before hand for compatibility. Most, like me even, will just look up reviews and other user comments online and go with it.

if you are going for a single card try to get one that has dual fans with good-sized heat pipes. doesn't hurt to get a cool running card.

Building your own can save you anywhere from $100-$300 depending on the parts and sales newegg has at the time.

Also SLI is overrated and not worth the investment.

Getting one really good card is all you need.
