I also would choose the edge. Smooth ride, the my ford touch system is great and the sel awd with the 202a package is right in your budget. Pm me if you have any specific questions.

Coming from an explorer and want something different/smaller. And the x3 is out of price range fully loaded. Will be test driving the murano soon, though not sure about the CVT.

I cant believe nobody has suggested the Jeep Grand Cherokee! After all the positive reviews, and the way the thing looks, I would have thought everyone would have been suggesting it. My vote is either for the Ford Edge (I think I remember that Ford is one of the best in the industry ATM for reliability), or the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
