G35 clutch issues
so my buddy has a g35, and a few time when he has gone to shift, he pushes the clutch and it goes straight to the floor, and has to be pulled back up. the second time he pushes the clutch, its still a little squishy, but by the third attempt, it feels normal again.
anybody know what it could be? im thinking clutch master cylinder, but ive been wrong once before. thanks guys! |

he put up a thread on 6mt as well, and someone said they had the same issue and a fluid flush took care of it. i guess we will flush the fluid tomorrow and see how it works. ill post here in a week or so to let you know if it took care of the issue, if i remember.

Hey thanks for the response.
Good luck on the fluid flush fixing the problem. I hope that works, and if you can remember...post back the results. Thanks! |

I've heard the slaves on G35's are notoriously problematic as well...

Sounds like Air in the line. Or a bad cylinder.

we put the car up on a lift yesterday and the slave cylinder was leaking, bad. there was never any residue on the ground, i think it just leaks a little bit every time the clutch is applied.

Depending on the year, it might have a recall out for the slave. When I had my '07 350Z, they had a recall notice for that exact issue. I had it happen once after some hard launches at the track, but never again after the fix.

I had a similar issue with my G once. It was the hottest day of the year, and I was on a road trip. All of a sudden I lost pressure in the clutch pedal, and it would stay about 3/4 of the way down unless I popped it back up with my foot. It would still press in enough to engage/disengage the clutch though. The pressure came back later in the trip after the weather cooled down, and it has never happened again.

I had the same problem with my Altima SE-R. Dealer ended up replacing either master or slave cyl then doing a flush. Fixed it but the clutch on most Nissan products is total shit.
