This might be a dumb question but...

Why do people conceal their plates when they post pictures. If everyone who saw the plates on the internet, went out and looked at the car in person, how would this be any different? I'm just curious.

I guess it's a privacy thing...but yet...everyone on the road can see your plates too. What's not to say they won't get my address using my plate? I'm just going to have to cover my plates while driving too from now on.

I don't run plates for that very reason.

i think the covering of the plates started from REALLY hooked up cars that had tens of thousands of dollars worth of aftermarket work and could easily be vandilized or stolen, or parts stolen. then it trickled down to basically stock cars that no one would waste their time doing an easy interenet search to find that persons house. but if it helps you sleep at night....

I don't think anybody here is brave enough to make it over to Italy and break into my home just for the sole purpose of seeing my license plate on the Forum.

It may not necessarily be someone from the forum and it may be someone already in Italy.
Also random people don't need to log on to view this forum so your car and plate are in the public domain. Basically what blueone said.
I for one just don't feel comfortable advertising my plate, especially because it's not a standard issue plate.
