Data plan: 200 MB vs 2 GB
I mostly use wifi to surf the web. I rarely ever need to surf when I'm out. However, there were certain times that I wished I had a data plan (e.g. to look up a restaurant on yelp). I might even do emails from time to time. For someone like me, would 200 mb be enough?

Most likely. I was on a 150MB plan and I was using it for email only. I never went over 50MB. Then one month some app downloaded an update and almost put me over the limit only a few days into the plan. Then I started messing around with ESPN's Scoreboard and a few other apps and decided to go to the unlimited data. The 150MB is no longer available on Verizon anyway, but now they have tiered plans, so I may scale mine back.
But 200MB should be plenty for email and (very) occasional web surfing.

The thing is that I'm not sure if I need it. I have wifi at work, school, and home. In the last 3 months there were about 5 or 6 instances in which I wished I had a data plan (to look up a restaurant's rating or contact info, or to answer an email real quick). Besides, only T-mobile and Sprint have unlimited now. I was referring to AT&T. |

I usually surf the web and email on my iphone and watch a few youtube videos here and there. Typically I use 1-2gigs a month and I am not on my phone a ton. You guys have quite a petite data appetite.
But if your using to just to reply to email and a few websites 200mb should work. |

200mb should be enough if you have wifi the majority of the time, I follow a similar pattern of data usage and 150mb/month is my max, if I go out to eat a lot and have to use my phone for directions and what not.

200mb can be used up very quickly
and you have to be careful to not download anything on the go, or watch too many videos or visit M3post (pictures) I generally use about 2gb or so per month, though this month I've used 1900 and I still have over a a week left in my cycle

200 mb is plenty if you watch what you do. Use wifi when possible and you are ok. Steaming in 3g sucks

200mb is plenty for me for some occasional web surfing, email and mapping. But that is only because there is plenty of wifi around me when I go to school, work and at home. I never stream anything in 3g.

For the majority of the time I use wifi or just simply don't have a need for a data plan. I have navigation in the car so I don't even need that. However, there are times when I need to look up an address, restaurant ratings, etc. That's when I feel the need for a data plan. Besides, smart phones all require data plans now and I think the 200 MB is probably going to be plenty for me.

It is hard to say. I use to have unlimited but downgraded it to 2GB since I never use anywhere close to that amount. I am on wifi 80% of the time and I usually use 250-400mb per month with light web surfing, email, Whatsapp
