ok you tech wizards...

I've been trying to install Windows XP SP2 for a short while now. The problem I have encountered at the moment is this error with installing my video card...

It reads...

The software you are installing for this hardware

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its companitibility with Windows XP

Continuing your installation of this software may impar or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing.

Do you want to continue installing the software for this hardware?

I have a few issues at this point...

My keyboard and mouse do not move or have been disabled so they do not seem to work. My video card is a GeForce 6800 GT.

is there any solution to his horrifying problem?

to answer a few questions... This windows installer is not a legitimate copy and i am currently in the process of installing SP2

the monitor drivers are definitely still there because i see the background that tells you about what's new in SP2 changing itself ocassionally

That's part of the challenge with those illegitimate copies, to see just how much you can learn about getting around the system.

thanks

When you iron wigs to straighten them, make sure yours is on a low setting and go through the section of hair quickly. Don't need any of the wig hair fibers melting on you, now do we? You can also straighten wigs using the hot water method (literally placing it under running water that's pretty hot), but that takes a lot of time and water and generally straightening it is better if you are confident in yourself. I've straightened a wig before and it's not lookin' half bad

Since Apple tends to replace them pretty easily, what's wrong with a free upgrade lol

Only when you are under warranty they will replace things.

And then I read it again.

WTF am I missing here? Ok so it 'froze' when the popup appeared, that still doesn't mean it's not driver related.... again, try a ps/2

#1 why are you still running SP2? (I understand its a cracked version or not legitimate version. There are ways around to get SP3)

#2 Most of the nvidia drivers can be used across various cards even if they are not the same generation. The only time I ever see the "not passed windows" bs is when you are installing beta drivers. I recommend getting new drivers from the site specific for your card.

#3 Attempt to get into safe mode and remove any existing drivers and in your device manager, remove the video card then reboot. If you do not know how to get into safe mode google is your best friend.

#4 install new drivers.

You missed the fact that OP is probably running Windows 7 with an ASUS Maximus Mobo, dual GTX580's, i7-2700K Sandy Bridge, and has two kids and a dog by now

Funny story. I got a Mac.

Just kidding, partly. I did get a Mac, but I was going to get bad ass things like that for playing online poker. That didn't work out very well.

This thread revive makes me feel old.
