Backing up files on iPhone
How do you guys back up files on your iphone? For example SMS, photos, etc. Is there any programs that you guys use besides iTunes? Most programs cost $25 to buy and I think that's expensive for what it does.

Why would you want to use something other than iTunes?

If you do a full backup on iTunes it saves your phone exactly as it is at that point in time, SMS messages and all. You cannot however (to the best of my knowledge) go into the backup file and view the sms files. Only when you restore an iPhone from that backup will you be able to view the files.

I had a program to extract SMS messages from the Itunes backup 2 years ago, but it was a bit messy and difficult to work with at times. It CAN be done if you really need to.
Program is ibackupbot: http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm |
