I had the 11" one and just got rid of it. It was nice and lightweight for traveling but performance wise I wasn't happy. And the screen was too small.

As a on the go person it's great. I have a MacBook Air that I bought refurbished for $700 last year. Pretty fast but can reach its hardware limits easily.

How was the refurbished quality. If I do end up buying a Macbook Air that is a great deal because it is only $200 more than the bare basic iPad.

Thanks

Fantastic. I just wanted something for traveling. It came as new in box with new booklet and everything. All wrapped up in Apples magic. I bet it was a demonstration or maybe a return. Apple is a great company to buy refurb because they have a full department for cleaning, erasing HD, and repacking. There is no difference.

Yeah it is a upgrade on the 15" and the 17". You can't even get it on the 13". That's the reason I custom ordered it was because I wanted the matte screen.

How's the retina display on the new MBP for glare? My wife edits fine-art photography and has a hard time on our iMac, but enjoys our 17" MBP (matte). At work she uses a $3000 Lacie, but I'm trying to convince her the new retina display MBP will suffice.

Retina is supposed to have less glare because they got rid of the extra piece of glass on the front, but I dunno. Wish Apple would realize that a LOT of people want a matte option for editing.

There is less glare on the MBP retina than on the regular glossy screens of the past. However, the matte screen is still much better in minimizing glare.
