if you lock the car with the key it disables the door handles inside and the interior lock button so if you lock the car with the window down a few inches someone cant reach their arm in and open the door with the handle. its a smart idea and sometimes i lock my friends in the car to mess with them

Love this feature I use it to lock my friends in the car when they take too long getting out

Sounds dangerous... the whole point of the way they design car locks is so that you can get out in the case of an emergency.

My E36 and E46 had this feature. My E90 does as well but only the passenger and rear doors. I noticed the driver's door doesn't double lock unlike the E36 and E46 where all the doors double locked.

LOL I just went in my car and tried it and it actually works. I thought this was bullshit! But yeh i just pressed the unlock button by my hand brakes and then I was able to open the door. Gonna lock my friend in the car this weekend just for fun LOL
