It's a red light, sure, but you are in the middle of a most likely busy intersection with your vehicle in first or 'D' with cars zooming by perpendicular to you and pedestrians passing mere feet from your bumper.

Here's an interesting article to read.
TWI vs DWI

As a side note, I truly hope you think my post was not serious. I don't do that to people.
I didn't think it was serious. But yeah.. I think if the car is stopped altogether it's really no big deal. I mean you can't text but you CAN pick up your phone to dial a number? There's just too many inconsistencies with laws like that.

Are you really trying to justify that texting while driving is perfectly fine? Because it's not. Hopefully they start fining and taking away licenses for people who are caught doing it. I'd be satisfied knowing dangerous people who can't keep their eyes on the road are out of my way, making it safer for me and my family.
It was at one point as was talking on the phone (without handsfree). It's STILL legal to actually drink WHILE driving in some areas of the country believe it or not (very very rural areas though).

Just because something becomes "law" all of the sudden, it's not like all those now offenders should be burned at the stake. That's all I'm saying. Fine and one point and now not. Yes it might be based on accident statistics but it's mostly just revenue collection as MOST drivers aren't causing actual accidents as they text and drive.

I am by no means advocating texting while driving or breaking any laws!! But yes, if you take a look at actual "law" it states clearly that for a law to be broken, their must be a complaintant or injured party. I'll do some digging and reference it for you.

If I can see someone texting while driving then they are doing it wrong lol. I would do nothing but continue driving. Can not be bother by other people I have to stay focused. That is the worlds second problem, being in other peoples business.

Disclaimer: Texting while driving kills 4x times faster and I do not approve.
