Makes sense, my E90 went into the shop so many times that they had to buy it back from me...my E82 135i has never broken down or even had a check engine light pop up. This is even more impressive when you consider that it spent over half of its life running 50% more boost than stock.

Good to see BMW's entry level car make that list

Having been the proud owner of a 2010 X6 xDrive 35i (loved that car, and miss it) I am happy to see this and not surprised at all. Good on ya, BMW!

I will say my 135i is hardly an entry level since it has the same motor as a 335i but weighs less thus making it higher performance
That's why I went with the 135i over a 335i. In fact I cancelled my f30 335i order for a 135i and I did not save any money!

Interesting. That study puts the 3er squarely in the middle of it's class. It's quite cool for the 1er as it seems a tough class, with but 10 separating the highest and the lowest class members, the E92 being grouped in the same class as the 1er.
This evaluation, however, seems a bit odd to me. For example, the 3er's class includes the Chrysler 300 and the 1er's class includes the Corvette. Though I might simultaneously consider a 1er and 3er, I really don't think if I were looking to buy a 1 or 3 that I'd cross shop either with a 300 or 'Vette,

Well, take solace in knowing that the other cars are worse. Sometimes being the best is not the same as being good. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

^ It just says 1-series coupe, which *is* the entry level BMW car. Just like my car was the entry level M car in its time, doesn't mean I don't love it!
ps - he owns a 1M and used to own a 135... I really don't think he was trying to be a dick! |

The 1-series is indeed entry level for BMW (until it moves to the 2-series and the new 1-series becomes FWD). It was actually a complement, that even at their entry level model BMW has not cut corners. I had a (Year 1 of 1) 135i, and now a 1///M, and can tell you that I have seen improvements in the cabin from 2008 to 2011 (not speaking about the alcantara/Kyalami orange stitching which is unique to the 1M, but more about the overall quality of plastics, which are now softer and of higher caliber). Even after 3 yrs my 135i never developed creaks, and so far the 1M has been top notch as well.
