Possible strike to close east coast/gulf coast ports.
Looked but did not see this topic elsewhere on the forum.
Hearing chatter about a looming union action which may close ports along the east and gulf coast ports. While this would severely affect much economic activity, what (if anything) would/could BMW do in such an event. Looking at a list of ports facing strike action, I noticed that Brunswick was not listed as one of the potentially affected ports. Not sure if that's an oversight or sloppy reporting, or if Brunswick is non union and not included in the potential strike action. If Brunswick did stay open, would all other east coast deliveries route there? Curious to hear thoughts or comments about the impact on dealer new vehicle inventory/custom orders, and availability of spare/replacement parts. Hopefully this resolves itself before the month end deadline. |

Check the tracking ordering delivery forum, we have a thread on it. Common consensus is that BMW ships, being RoRos and not cargo ships, will not be affected.
