8 weeks later...

I finally get my E90 back! I had nearly forgotten just how enjoyable it is to drive. I had a bigass grin on my face the whole way home from the dealership, and yes ... I took the long way back

They did a real nice job replacing the entire interior, and I have the added bonus of a ///M driver's-side carpetting instead of the E90 (the only difference is the cool ///M deadpedal).

Plus now the service dept is kissing my ass for the excessive wait and circumstances. Kinda scary when you're on a first-name basis with the service dept and you've only had the car for 3 months (2 of which were in their hands).

I forgot the outcome, but did it end up being an insurance claim or did BMW cover the cost ?

Yeah, I'll take some pictures tomorrow morning. It looks as good as it did when it was new. Literally the only difference is the deadpedal. They're steam cleaning my floormats right now too.

Bimmerista, it was an insurance claim. BMW refused to admit any responsibility. I guess whenever these things happen, some poor schmuck has to be the first. Guess that was me.
