Arrivederci Reflectors! [Z4]
Finally, I don't have to look at those orange (or red) reflectors anymore! **Jumping For Joy** I know, I could have filed down the numbers. Maybe next sunday. Wooo Hooo!

I bought a thing of tint from the auto parts store (darkest - limo), measured the circles, got on the computer and created a document with circles the same size, printed, taped them to a piece of the tint and cut them out with my exacto knife. I'll attach the template for you to use. The numbers on the reflectors are slowly driving me nuts so i'll probably be back out there next weekend. lol

Nice...sounds like an easy fix, and it looks hot! A must for us black cars I'd say.
What numbers are you talking about?

There are little numbers and letters (DOT something) on each reflector. The letters on the rear reflectors seem to be either larger or closer to the edge than the front ones so it's hard to get the tint to smooth down over them. I think the roll of tint cost $11 and there is enough left over to tint the windows. LOL
Shame on people who say they won't own a black car. This is my second project and I couldn't have done either if I didn't have a black car.

Hmmm... If it were me, I would probably trace over it with a piece of paper and then use that. Cut it out of the paper first and hold it up to the car to see if it fits. Sorry I didn't realize you didn't have the same reflectors.

There's nothing wrong with that...at least you love your car...I'm mostly obsessed with the front of the bumper, and every little scratch on the car...the reflectors don't bother me as much...

Hm 11$ isn't bad, I was gonna buy two sheets of metallic black (non-transparent) for 10$ shipped. If I can find it at my local Autozone/Napa/Kraagen then I'd rather get it locally. Where'd you get yours?

Advance auto parts. I'm sure they would have it at any auto parts store. You might even be able to find a smaller amount at a different store. Here is a link to their website: http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...egoryCode=3181

Hm theres an advanced auto parts like 100 miles away, heh. But the local auto stores also show up on the search so I'm guessing they have it as well. I'll give it a shot later

Looks good... You should pull out the bulb from the rear so it doesn't light up.
For my reflectors, I plan on buy a set of front and rears. Going to sand them down, paint them with sapphire black + clear coat then install them. I'll post a DIY once I finish.

I don't really mind the way it looks when it's lit. The back ones weren't bothering me too much to begin with - it was the safety orange on the front that was driving me crazy. I am interested to see how yours turn out. It seems like a lot of work. Seriously, with the tint you wouldn't even notice they were there unless you were looking for them. For the $10 you might want to have a go at the tint before you start painting. Just a thought.

My friend went to NAPA auto parts today and he said they have rolls of tint for about 13$ I'm probably gonna swing by after class to pickup a roll and give it a shot after I wash my car. Or if I get impatient I'll alcohol wipe my reflectors and do it later today I'll report on how it goes, thanks for the idea Veruca

You don't need any alcohol, but you're going to need a bottle of baby shampoo and a spray bottle, and a tiny squeegie (sp?). Let me know how it comes out!
