Cabo San Lucas
Planning a trip down to Cabo in June. It'll be 2 or 3 couples and a few singles. I've looked at the hotels and the ME looks like it would be crazy fun, just nearly 2x the price of the other hotels. Our other option would be to rent a nice condo for all of us, but then there'd be no new people to meet....only when we go out.
Question is: What hotels do you guys recommend? Where've you stayed before? We definitely want to party but want to be able to sleep at some point or another... |

No idea where to stay, we slept on the beach the first time & then we stayed on the sailboat in the harbor. Have fun, nice place to visit.

I have heard good things about the Hilton there:

Isn't it awesome... the Mexicans come here to work and take our tax money and we go to Mexico and spend all our excess money on vacations... I will never go back to mexico unless work dictates it. Spend your money in the Caribbean. Plus it is much Prettier.

I stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Rose. FWIW, I travel quite a bit and Cabo was by far the worst destination I've been to. I felt quite unsafe, town is filthy, ocean is raging and unswimmable (and extremely deep), people are annoying and always trying to sell you things, surroundings are ugly (it's a desert), and the beach isn't pretty. I have a really hard time finding anything redeeming about the place.
I guess that the one bright spot was that it was the first time I ever saw a 1er. I think it was 2006, IIRC. I would also recommend the Caribbean. Turks & Caicos being the standout there.

for the couples capella pedregal (expensive and not a place to party but to relax)
cheaper pueblo bonito pacific (off of the main party part of town) single Bahia and ME are close to town and decent. I agree its not a great beach area and its around desert, but its very short travel time for people in California. 2 hr flight from southern California, its not the best place to go, but its close to get to and a good place to relax without it seeming to be a staycation. fk |

yea we're looking for relaxing hotel close to parties- to satisfy both needs.
Probably stay at a pueblo bonito hotel and taxi into town ...I may take a look at Bahia also. Do you know if you stay at one hotel, if the others will let you into their pool area? I don't expect Cabo to be gorgeous...I know it's desert meets bad ocean. I would rather go to Cancun or Puerto Vallarta or Carrib...but flights are way more and with a group this big we can all get down to cabo in 1.5hrs and 300bucks...hard to beat. |

no budget on hotel cost, hands down
capella each room has its own small infinity pool otherwise pueblo bonito pacifica is now all inclusive. which makes it a good simple choice. Bahia is more central location as for pools, the cheaper places has strangers walking through all the time. the nice places know each guest by name |
