Rx-8 6 Speed Manual
I had an E36 M3 and E46 M3, the RX-8 handling is very well up there with the M3s. A little low on torque and avg 15 - 17 mpg. Very, very precise shifting and you can now get a low miles 2004-2005 for under $10k. Just because the resale value is not up there with S2000 and 350Z, it doesn't mean its performance is under par. Test drive one before you make your decision. And if you do and remember, let me know what you think. IMO, awesome handling = fun to drive, even though its hp is less than its competitors. Good luck.

Given the age and miles, a Japanese car is probably more reliable with less issues and require a lot less maintenance.

I had a 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5.
It was turbocharged, had great options in GT trim and was easily tuned to 220 who for cheap on 2500 lbs. Was a blast to drive and scared the shit out of STI and Evo owners at the time. Plus I was getting 30 mpg highway. |
