I just moved to Dallas from Houston a few months ago. The one place we take all our friends to when they come to Dallas from Houston is Hop Doddy burger on Northwest 12. Great burgers and always tends to be a line out the door at peak feasting times. I recommend going at the off rush hours.
Whenever you do make the drive itself I would download the Waze app. I make the drive once a month and the Waze app is more useful than my V1. |

if you stop in Corsicana: https://www.collinstreet.com/
they make the ONE fruitcake in the world that I have ever enjoyed. fruitcake gets a bad rap in general but somehow this bakery got it right.

Entire damn thing is full of cops. No use in trying to speed or make up time. Run a detector if you can, even then though they are good at hiding.

Well I drove there and back, it was about 250 miles each way. Went about 85-90 mph the whole way and used the Waze app which helped me spot out speed traps. There were cop, but not as many as I expected. The drive can be boring though, not much scenery or anything to enjoy. I love this car though, it just pulls and pulls. Dallas as a city was nice, but not memorable. My visit to the Dealey Plaza was very somber I have to say, so sad how JFK's life was ended in that one instant. All in all, a nice break from work.
