What are your thoughts on the E46 Touring for my Niece?

Has a full sized spare, so easy fix. Found out the driver's side fog light is out, so I may buy her one in a few weeks and replace it. I highly doubt she will ever use them though.

Time will tell if it was the right choice, but my gut tells me it will be a great first car, and with dual front airbags and 4 side airbags it should be safe.

I would not run on that 13 year old spare tire. It's probably even older than that! You should buy four(or five!) new tires and call it a day.

We would obviously switch the tire from the wheel to the spare wheel, and if that doesn't do it then take it to a shop to get it sorted out. The tires are pretty decent, could make it through Winter, but we will probably get her winter tires with how much snow they get up there.

It depends on the service history.

If a lot of work has been done recently because parts have already failed, that means they will now be good for a long time to come.
