I personally don't find it silly as it affects my passengers as well.

I just called since I have a 2006 e90. There's a big long automated message that lists all the model years and production dates affected

For bmw 3-series sedans, only model years from 2000-2005 were affected.

SILLY?!
Somebody I know sustained injuries because of this problem involving
a 2001 325it.

Please call BMW Customer Relations at 800-525-7417 to address them of any pathetic concerns.

Thank you.
Well, the funny thing is this most manufacturers at the time required changing the air bag at 10 year intervals.

You would think that directive alone is enough to put this issue to bed.

With all the GM bashing that goes on in this Forum about the ignition switch recall, I find it truly amazing how BMW just gets a pass on this by the Forum members. Like it's no big deal and BMW is doing us consumers a favor for replacing an airbag module igniter 14 years later. But I love that tactic of BMW, go blame it on a supplier, so it's THEIR fault, not BMW's. LOL

So, no e90s are concerned ?

Also, if I enter my VIN in this website, I get an error. https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/vinLookup, same for yoi ?
