Same experience when I was in Shanghai

The only way I was able to get back to my hotel after being lost was finding a Japanese store, going in, speaking Japanese, and having them direct me to where I needed to go.
They were quite shocked that a Persian guy in China spoke to them in Japanese, but at least they were kind enough to help me.

Totally different than Tokyo.... I've never had someone in Tokyo not try to help me..
