This review reads less like car guy's feedback, and more like something an English major was forced to submit on short notice when her high school paper was due.
What the @#$^ is the following supposed to mean: "car is actually very fluid and languid in the way it moves from neutrality into oversteer – rather than being spikey and difficult to control" ?

Reviewing this cars performance is just a formality. It's ridiculously overpriced and I imagine 99% of those who buy it will store it rather than drive it to within 10% of its true potential.

I think all the owners on this board would disagree with you on all fronts there... and it looks like the allocation to Bimmerpost is higher than many countries. |

When them rear tires break loose, you can catch her just like muddin' in Buford's Chevy wit a fresh set of Mickey Thompson's.

I am now undecided since I was all in at MSRP, but now found out I will be paying the market adjustment. At $135k, still more expensive than the Ftype SVR, but more hardcore even if the jag is unmistakably more beautiful. Better track numbers for the less expensive GTR, and the Z06. Close to the same track numbers for the much less expensive GT350R and apparently the upcoming ZL1. Standard run of the mill 911S close in both performance and cost, even though the base 911 is a $100,000 car and contains all of the parts of a $100,000 car. Contrast this with what the M4 is built on as the base car. Essentially, a $40,000 428i, that has an extra $40,000 worth of performance upgrades, but is marked of 400% instead of 200%.
Compare that with a GT3, that has maybe an additional 20k of upgrades, and has been marked up 35% instead of 20%. Bottom line is I am not sure that I would justify paying even the same amount of money for a car that has the basic underpinnings of a 40k car verses a car with the basic underpinnings of a 100k car. Let alone "market adjustment ". The porsche and jags are without question beautiful cars. The GTS, is very cool. To me, therefore, it all comes down to the price of being "exclusive ". |

They will not commit yet. I paid $3500 over from them for my 1 series M. I thought that my M2 was going to be MSRP, but they then asked for $5000 over. I settled and bought it for MSRP plus $2500 on Saturday.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of having what is being marketed as a pure track car that is able to be driven on a regular basis. I just feel that there are cars that can do as well on the track for less money, or cars that offer a bit more nostalgia, romance and daily drivers that perform almost as well on the track for the same amount of money. I would to hear the counterpoint from others, who believe the GTS is the way to go for the money (how it is better for the money than the competition). I realize that without anyone actually driving the car, it is all speculation based on aesthetics and performance numbers without the opportunity to experience the emotion of driving. |

sorry as much as I love it it's just not in the same price range as RS and I still do believe the RS will blow out GTSin a heart beat.

Ohlins, spoiler, seats, tune, exhaust, wheels. I bet you could make a better looking car without the rear lights , but nonetheless something that would be just as fast if not faster. |
