People that can't drive suck...
...people that don't fess up to it are assholes!
Wife parked downtown to meet a friend last night, which also had the Pirates playing in town. Someone who parked beside my wife took out the entire side of the car. I know the garage manager, so we're checking video tape now. Sucks though, I have two kids on my policy - which made it high enough (son just got his license a couple weeks ago) now this. I actually blamed my kids at first - but they haven't driven it in some time. Front end, fender, both doors will need replaced...may be able to save the back 1/4 panel. Wheel also has a scratch in it...I think it could be refinished. I'm lost as to how the mirror wasn't hit. Needless, there's no way - even if you're drunk - that you wouldn't notice hitting something this hard - for this long.

Dude that totally sucks and people who do that are big time assholes!
You should invest in a dash cam....it would have caught the LP when they pulled away,

I was looking at getting one for my other car...probably should look at getting one for each. And the way we back in to parking spots - it may catch something, who knows.

Yesterday a truck driver, jealous piece of shit, tried to kill me.
Saw me in his driver side mirror, on the left lane, beeing half at his truck length. Then this son of a bitch started changing lanes, into my lane! No space for me left, so I thought to honk at him and give gas, to pass him.....guess what... He honked back at me and still was pulling over....I had to step hard on the breaks... I couldnt hold myself and jumped ,(at the next light) out the car to fucking whoop the living shit out of this low life. When suddenly my thoughts shifted to my beloved M forum...and the Will Smith Thread. What I wanted to say OP was: Pieces of shit everywhere, just be happy its just metal and noone got harmed and you didnt had any emotional stress. Sorry that I thread jacked as Iam still shaking...and just wanted to thank MY forum, for reminding me what could've happened. Therefor you probably, ( all of you ) saved my life... |

I feel your pain. I had this happen to me once. I was parked on the street in DC. Went to a club for a little bit and when I got back to my car I realized some lowlife clipped the corner of my driver's side mirror. Caused the mirror to shatter. As I was standing there trying to absorb what had happened, I looked at the car behind me. It was an Acura Integra. The lowlife side swiped that car and damaged the entire driver's side from the back tail light all the way up to the front bumper; even ripped the door mirror clean off. After seeing this, I felt fortunate with the minor damage I had.
Another time, same area. I was walking to my car when this car comes screaming around the corner and slams into a parked car. Some chick gets out hysterical and crying. I was WTF? |

People do suck
I was driving through a Barnes & Noble parking lot one day with my step-son and was looking for a parking spot when this guy in a Subaru proceeded to back out of a tight spot by immediately turning the wheel and smashing into this Toyota RAV4 parked next to him. The guy practically ripped the bumper off of the Toyota. He then drove off with me following close behind to try to get his license plate number. He pulled into another spot and got out to inspect the damage to his car. I pulled in next to him and asked if he was going to leave a note on the car he hit since I saw him do it and had his license plate number. The numbnuts said yes and then proceeded to drive off. I went into the Barnes & Noble and found the owner of the Toyota and told her what happened and gave him the license plate number of the guy who hit her car. After contacting the police and giving them the info, the Suburau guy was going to get charged with hit & run to a vehicle and property destruction. If the dumb ass would have been a decent human being, he could have avoided all that but I hope he enjoys points on his license, fines, and large jump in insurance rates. |

You need to get a dash cam! Just got mine and it can pick up any slight car movement or side impacts and it trigger it to start recording. Planning to buy another one for the rear window. Can't trust anybody these days to do the right thing and fess up for their actions. And people wonder why insurance rates are so high. Sucks for your accidents bro.
I know the feeling of paying high ass insurance with your kids. I have four, one is 19 (boy) and two (twins girls) are 16, the other one is still 10 so no worries for now. Paying insurance for five cars, yes that's right, five freakin' cars! Four of them are BMWs (235/330/328/325) and one Focus ST. Hope everything works out with your insurance!

Sucks about your luck man, they could have at least left their information instead of being a cunt.
Hopefully something shows up on the security footage. |

Wow, that sucks. That's not like a bumper ding, it's damage most folks wouldn't want to drive around with.
Hopefully they find the sucker and charge him/her with a hit and run. He/she will love their record and insurance rates after that, and you'll probably get funds the repairs. Since it's a hit and run, your insurance may not want to just settle with paying for the fixes and will hopefully open an investigation on the incident (maybe request the shopping center for video) |

It's not the new one. It's the first gen, 2005 Focus ST. Originally bought it for my oldest son when he turned 15. I think it's a blast to drive for a four banger. Again we're talking about Ford here, so there are some not so quality parts that goes out here and there. Otherwise, it's a pretty decent car.

This recently happened to my girlfriend as well. Someone hit her SUV while it was parked at her office. She came out after work to find the back passenger door with dents, paint scrapes, and cracked paint. Whoever did it did not leave a note and the parking lot doesn't have any cameras. Definitely frustrating.

Unfortunately, no cameras on the 3rd floor where she parked. Cameras on level 1 only show the drivers side of the car and the ticket machine (which, damage is passenger side)...so I cannot even prove that it happened in the garage.
Needless, I'm out my deductible ($500). Odd estimate for the damage - they are not replacing any of the dented items....which I find interesting how this will go. Initial damage costs are at $3800...thought it'd be more. I think I'm going to change my deductible limits...make my wife's car $100 - and take my car to $1000.

Depending on the dents, it may not be necessary to replace the panels. The metal retains a "memory" of the shape it was in, so the dent can either be pushed out from behind or pulled out using a slide hammer. Nice Jeep by the way. I really like the new Grand Cherokees.
