Planning to buy a 1-series ...
I'm planning to buy a 1-series and sell my E90. My wife's got a promotion at her work and now she has the same workinghours as me so we can sell one car. She drives a Smart Fortwo and loves the tiptronic gearbox and also the size of the car. She thinks mine is too big (?? Women !) to drive and has an manual gearbox. So I was thinking selling both cars and buy a 1-series. Is this a good choice or do you guys kick me of the forum ?

aka. If it is not a 3 series it is not a good car.
I say go for it. If it makes you happy and the wife happy... and it will probably make your bank account happy as well

How is it too big? Not everything needs to be as small as a Smart Fortwo.

Get whatever she wants, not what people on this forum recommends. 1 and 3 shares enough components the real difference is cosmetics, well, besides the 1 will be a more engaging ride.

I will probably be getting a 135i but keeping my 3 series.

You'd be saving very little money if you're gonna sell your car and buy a new 1er, taking a depreciation as you drive it off the lot. It's not like you'd be gaining anything in practicality. It's a great car, if you plan on using it as a toy or as a strictly 2 seater. I'm being serious here.
