You just have to be careful if you drive fast. I don't do it unless I'm somewhere that I know by heart. I don't do it when the weather's bad. I don't do it when there's traffic. You have to know what to do. I don't cut people off, nor weave in and out of traffic. I go fast, but only if I'm absolutely sure it's okay.

This guy was probably careless (but know that I have full sympathy for him after seeing what happened to him...it's a shame) and was going somewhere he didn't know, or pushed his car past the limits, or drove in unsuitable weather. Regardless, he did something wrong, and he paid the price unfortunately. Also, high speeds + FWD = premature offroad experience.

I feel sorry for the guy, and the video's for a good cause, but he should have known better.

Should've bought a BMW instead of a Dodge. But yeah, that's a sad story. Glad he's OK.

It would appear from the video he has learned from the wreck. I was amazed to see the "after" picture of him. Thanks for posting.

Well, the plus is that one SRT Ghey is off the road, the bad is that the SRT Ghey sucks at protecting its passengers..

Good video though for a good cause.. I know ive been in a few of those situations and luckily i came out walking with a few scratches.. happy the kid lived and is doing well..

Guilty myself.

I think everyone on here should watch that. It kind of hit a chord in me.

Guilty of speeding, but I also know there is a time and a place that is allowable for faster speeds.

From the looks of that SRT4 is was a rainy day since so much mud and debris was thrown onto the car during its offroading experience, which is definitely not the time.

He is very fortunate to still be around.

Edit:

I'd also like to add after thinking about this scenario that his age was also a major factor into his accident. Not saying that an older person couldn't pull the same accident off, but thinking back to my 16-20y/o years of driving I and I will assume nearly everyone of you drove with a somewhat reckless abandon similar to how this kid was probably driving. It's the typical, we all thought we were invincible mentality.

As I've aged and driven more over the years, I now look back and drive no where near the same way as I used to. I am still more of a offensive driver then a defensive driver. I make my moves and prefer to move around the other cars then let other cars dictate my movement which I feel is safer since I am controlling where I place myself opposed to other cars, think of it as chess. Yet I also know now to drive according to the weather, traffic, other cars visible condition, etc., all things I didn't care to take into full account in my younger days. All things are also learned over time behind the wheel. No class is going to teach you to deal with all weather conditions, or all traffic variations, or how to handle the asshole driving with a car chained to his rear bumper or driving on nearly a flat tire.

Anyways, sure you can take something from this little video, but unfortunately the accident was ultimately caused by his own driving inexperience behind the wheel of a car with too much HP. We have our own 16-20y/o 3 series drivers who have caused or been in accidents themselves. And I'll bet most of them if given the time and driving knowledge would have been able to avoid their own mishaps, they just didn't have the experience to do so. Which all floats back to each states driver testing and requirements are garbage, but that is a whole other topic.

My driving speeds with age 18-24yrs 90+ fwy. 24-28yrs low 90's.. After i bought my own business 75-80 and empty road gunning for a mile or so thats all..

As we get older we mature and we have more to risk and lose so we get smarter..

I've seen young kids in civics, jettas passing by me at 2am on the fwy doing easy 100+ and i just shake my head, but i cant judge because i was that stupid myself once..

Be safe, Buckle Up, and Have Insurance....
