The sample is small but the level of CO and carcinogens would be measurable and therefore potentially valid despite the sample size. The sample size would only be in question if they used it to determine the rate of cancer in a given population.

This study has very low validity....... They interviewed 79 lung cancer patients to find out who has done what...... Often times, they will identify they all did some thing that has nothing to do with causing the disease, e.g. they all had ketchup with their fries. This type of study is called a retrospective study and is low on the totem pole of epidemiology and biostats.

Hmm I think that yes a Joint has more, but the amount that actually stays and affects ur system is far less

For instance smoke cigarettes in a car or a house with light interior and it turns brown, do this with joints and youll see very little change.. I think that Cigs have nicotine and tar that sticks and causes the lung cancer whearas the joint doesnt stick and stay in your system..

I smoked for 8 years daily, had a lung test done a few months ago and it came up clear and healthy.. im never short of breath, i have no breathing issues etc.. yet my friends who smoke cigarettes wheeze, cough and sound like they will die and have lung problems.. so explain that?

Exactly.

Look at cigarette smoker fingers, they look horrible.

In college, my last aparment was lived in for 3 years, and weed blown almost daily. It never smelled, nor did walls turn brown. One night playing poker my roommate wanted to allow smoking cigs for the night. I was strongly opposed, knowing it would make the house smell like Motel 6. But said fine, but made his ass clean the house himself.

Sure enough, the next day he was apologizing for not listening to me (as usual). That kid to this day never has learned to listen to me.

Weed has the biggest misconcepted stereotype that goes along with it. I do not know anyone who is like the bullshit commercials.

Its Fox. thats why they say: We Report. You Decide.

this is just like every other anti-pot test, its half assed. then the government uses it as "data".

the government calls them facts, but i call them lies!

P value is important. Everything else is crap. You can have 1000 samples and it still may not be significant.

Of all those who smoke, only a small percentage have lung cancer. However, if you look the other way around, a high percentage of lung cancer patients smoke. That's why this stupid study has not much validity.

I've taken a few and I don't remember a rule that says as long as n>15 a sample size is valid. Does this theorem have a name??
