How about this one.
Equation proving 1=0

Let’s say A represent 1 and B represent 0

1. a = b + 1 (Given)

2. (a-b)a = (a-b)(b+1) (Multiplication Prop. of =)

3. a2 - ab = ab + a - b2 - b (Distributive Property)

4. a2 - ab -a = ab + a -a - b2 - b (Subtraction Prop. of =)

5. a(a - b - 1) = b(a - b - 1) (Distributive Property)

6. a = b (Division Property of = )

Hence, 1=0

In line 5 you have (a - b - 1) which equals 0. 1x0 = 0x0 is true. Division by 0 to arrive at line 6 generates an error on both sides. Error = Error

Ya... I know. On a pure equation standpoint though it works.

A math professor actually showed us this equation in discussion. Of course this was about 6 years ago. I just searched online and pulled up the equation again.

Everyone knows that any even number is evenly divisible by 2. Not everybody knows that if you take all the digits of any number and add them together, and add all the digits of the result together, and again as necessary to get to a single digit (or any number of digits), if that result is divisible by 9 then the original number is also divisible by 9. If that number is not divisible by 9, then neither is your original number. This works the same way with the number 3.

Example: 81
8+1 = 9
9 is evenly divisible by 9 so 81 is evenly divisible by 9

Example: 2,304
2+3+0+4 = 9
9 is evenly divisible by 9 so 2,304 is evenly divisible by 9

Example: 7,387,803,612
7+3+8+7+8+0+3+6+1+2 = 45
4+5 = 9
9 is evenly divisible by 9 so 7,387,803,612 is evenly divisible by 9

I am pretty sure anyone that graduated highschool knows that one too.

What many people don't know is that if it divisible by three and it is even... it is also divisible by 6!!!
