Any suggestion?
The Mini lawsuit was for the N14 engine, not N47. No diesel engine has ever been installed in a Mini in the US/CA.

Just found this thread and wondered if you know if the recall is still active. I have a 2010 F10 with the N47T engine which has covered approx 97000 miles.

Hi, why don't you pay a visit to your local dealership to find out through your car VIN number, if the recall is for your car too? They will be able to find out by checking the VIN number. ...

Chain snapped after recall

Hi all,

I had my car fixed through this recall 1 year 9 month ago. Only the tensioner was changed. The chains were good.

Now, 1 year 9 month and 22.000km later: The chain snapped. Great. In the first attempt BMW refused to carry any of the repair costs, which I find strange since they green-lighed the chains not too long time ago.

Anybody else has tried having the snapped chain after the recall?
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you got the receipt of the previous repair in an official BMW dealership, it's their fault of not correct check on the condition of the chain. Get a lawyer and try again.. ..also, sent an email to BMW Factory for advice, providing all evidence of the previous chain check and tensioner replacement.
Good luck.. ...

First post. I gave up on forums when I went away from the modified car market as I bought a sensible car. 2008 E60 520d. Although have had heaps Of trouble with this one over the past couple of years. Bought off my bro through main dealer. Had timing chain recall in April 2015. Both chains etc replaced. Noticed vibrations in the cabin since getting it back although told it was normal. Back a few times with vibration issue although diagnosis kept coming back as clear.
35k later. Chain jumped/ snapped and mechanic said it will have to be done again (different dealership). Now what.
Awaiting main dealer reply to see if BMW are offering any warranty after recall was complete.
