Winning 4 in a row is much different. By the 4th consecutive time, people get sick of you. Lewis had some gaps in time, to keep the excitement level up. Although overall, the domination of Mercedes is pretty sickening, much like the Shuey/Ferrari years.

Unfortunately it won't be until 2021 until F1 is going to do anything about leveling the playing field a bit more ... but I doubt it really will as long as F1 is married to the hybrid PU's (which they seem to be no matter how many complain). As long as there's factory teams ... they will continue to dominate no matter what limitations F1 places on R&D or overall budgets. |
