Why do some threads get locked?

"Why do" you have a click bait and totally non descriptive and unhelpful title like the one you posted? Exactly the kind that will get locked.

Certain threads are locked if the question being asked has been asked repeatedly, if the thread is in the wrong forum, if it’s deemed useless, Etc...

Its probably called... use the "Search" button.

Mods don't tend to allow redundant threads. Not many users would prefer repeating themselves anyway.

That's a good example. Even if the new thread stays "positive" there are more than enough old threads on that topic that can be searched.
