And I'll need to convince my better half that this is a viable option. So check with your better half and ask how she decided on rentals.

Stayed at the Grosvener, it's got a Pret in the lobby, has direct (indoor) access to Victoria Station and a/c. Easy walk to Buckingham, Jermyn St, etc. Also had good luck with room upgrades.
Couple of decent restaurants within a quick walk and a few more a little further out without having to use the tube. |

Folks lived just down the road from the Grosvener, great location but busy location with Victoria right there. Prices are good though and a very nice place for sure. Close is the place we always used, the Goring. Even pricier but smaller, a bit removed from the bustle of Victoria and and easy walk to the station. The Plumbers Arms is great little pub near by, spent way to much time there... good memories!
If you like Indian, try Amaya! Upscale Indian which is excellent.

Mark last time we were there, about two years ago, we stayed at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
Very central, about 5 minute walk across the bridge to the Houses of Parliament, the Eye is literally two minutes around the corner. There’s a Pret a minute down the road, sorted! Quite large rooms and reasonably priced, for London. H |

We stayed at the Crown Plaza in Blackfriars. Close to a lot of things (walking distance) and across the street from the tube station. Service was great and near St Brides tavern. Great beer and fish and chips.

We stayed at the DoubleTree at the NE corner of Hyde Park. Tons of things to do around there and the Queensway station is a couple blocks away. We were there in June.

I stayed at the Radisson Blu Bloomsbury and couldn't have been happier. Great breakfast place right next door, right around the corner form the British museum, co-op grocery store down the street, helpful desk staff who explained how to get around the city in detail, and easy walking distance to Westminster and all the good stuff downtown.
