I'm not saying they do not build good cars or have good technologies...I mean more their visual design decisions.

Implementing single screens means not copying, you're right, but putting a kind of same element Merc is using right now for me does not show much effort in exploring new ways of design.
Single screens still can be nicely integrated (see new Glof 2020, VW Tuareg) in many ways, not just putting a "screen" on the dash like you see in new Mercs...that's why I said "copied".

I still think BMWs have the cleanest looking dashboards on the market, less is more.

I always want to see a more cockpit oriented driving dynamic. But it also is important for the passenger to be able to help navigate on the fly.

This looks very interesting. Hopefully it looks visually cool and is integrated cleanly on the dashboard as well.
