Leather Protection Question

I'm looking to protect my Ivory White Leather interior. I bought the GYEON Q2 Leather Shield. I have the upgraded full leather package. Outside of doing the seats has anyone done their steering wheel, leather dash and doors?

I used oem BMW leather treatment on everything. Pretty good stuff. My favorite is still Sonax and Sonax cleaner. I don’t ever get dye transfer on my white leather.
I did a 2200 mile road trip and my leather seats still look brand new without even a crease yet. Sonax cleaner will remove dye transfer as Inused it on my wife’s Audi light tan leather. She puts the mail on the front seat and ink transferred.

Yes, I clean the steering wheel often with a damp microfiber cloth and then treat it. The oil and grit in your hands builds up quickly. Same goes with the door handles. You don’t have to treat it every time but a wipe down often will keep your wheel looking new for a long time. Women with diamond rings can do a number on a Nappa leather wheel if not careful.

There are so many different sonax leather cleaners and conditioners. Are they all the same?

This is the best Sonax deal as you get everything you need.

After years of trying every single product for leather out there, Swissvax is the best. If the leather is new you just need the mild cleaner and the conditioner every 2-4 months (based on use).

My only thing is how safe is to use with perforated seats. One has been able to tell me if these products really clot of pores or can cause issues in the long term. If you do have vented seats I would not apply any product directly and just spray a cloth first and then rub.

I just coated my seats with CarPro Leather Quartz. Happy with the way it turned out and the application. I have the upgraded leather seats as well and nothing changed. I still have some left over but I didnt have time to do more like the steering wheel etc. I have young kids so it was important for me to do this but for those who have white leather, I would for sure do something like this for dye transfer protection at the very least.

I use the Griot's 3 in 1 leather on mine. It seems to protect well and keep it clean. It holds up well against 2 German Shepherds, and gets the slobber right off. Never was able to get it out with other products on my previous BMW.

I’ve got a new X5 with black Vernasca. Would you recommend that Sonax kit or the bmw leathercare for brand new car? I’ve read that vernasca is coated or sealed so just trying to make sure I use the best thing for my time and effort.

It seems like there would be a different process to care for Vernasca vs Napa, since Vernasca is a coated leather...no?

I used the GYEON Q2 Leather Shield product from the first day (April 2019) I picked up the X5. I have the Ivory White upgrade leather interior.

I think it's done a reasonably good job. Any dirt and or staining from jeans are easily removed with a cleaner. One thing i would avoid doing is the leather dash. It left a bit of a sheen. I did do the steering wheel and it's pretty much remained unchanged from first picking the X5.

I haven't used any conditioners or other leather products outside of a Chemical Guys All Purpose Cleaner. A wet hot microfibre cloth also serves me well.

Thanks for the tip in the SONAX. Got it and used it last weekend and love the results. How often do you clean and reapply the cream?

My recent limited research indicates all new leather is treated, artificial and natural, and that further protection products are unnecessary. I will focus on just keeping the leather clean during periodic cleaning sessions.
