Leaf Blower Question - 2009 vs 2020

Hey guys, I have an Electric leaf blower I bought in 2009 to use to dry my car. It does take some time to dry a car (around 10 minutes).

Its the Toro 51599 = They rate it at up to
235 mph and 255 cfm

I'm wondering, would this work better for my application?

I just upgraded from something like that to an EGO 650cfm. The difference is CRAZY! Plus I don't have to carry a cord around anymore which makes drying it wayyy easier.

Never thought to use the leaf blower. I've got the EGO as well...actually converted everything over from gas to battery. I'll have to try it next time I wash the car.

I just upgraded from a 530cfm Ego Leaf blower to a 650cfm Ego blower and that was already a huge difference.

Note that you really need to have some sort of ceramic coating on the car to really maximize the benefits of using a leaf blower for drying. Pre coating the leaf blower would just sort of spread the water on the surface but after coating you see the beads of water just fly off the paint. Its night and day difference.

Did you consider getting the ego 650 cfm over the 580 cfm. Don't know what to get and would kindly like your opinion.

I just checked I actually have the 650 cfm unit. No wonder its such a drastic change from the 530 I previously had.

Cfm aside the battery life of the 650 was worth it for me. When i had the 530 unit cranked to the max/turbo it would only have enough power to dry the car 80-90% before it would run out of power. Now with the 650 on max/turbo i can fully dry the car/wheels with some power to spare.

One thing to note is that the 650 battery was a good amount heavier than the one from the 530. Not a issue for me but i can see how someone could get tired holding the heavier 650 unit.

The 650 cfm is the right unit. The larger battery alone is worth it, but the extra cfm are helpful. I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy it again.

At the time all they had was the 580 CFM and I just tried blow drying the X5. Boy did that make it easy. I especially like what it did with the windows. Anyway I probably shaved off about 45 mins. Actually I had to hydrate the cloth a couple of times. Amazing tip guys. Thanks!

Nice choice on the 650. I converted everything from Gas to Ego. Got the last piece on Father's Day which was the 21" select cut self propelled lawn mower and this past Christmas I got the snow blower with the two 7.5 amp batteries that came with a 530 cfm blower as a promo. Couldn't sell the 530 so I use the 580 for the big jobs in the front of the house and use the 530 in backyard to clear debris around the pool. Definitely the 580 is superior to the 530 but the 650 would have been excellent.

Home Depot frequently has factory refurbs from Ego. Most are just returns that they can't sell as new. Got my blower and string trimmer that way. You save like 30%
