I have always liked the way the S197 Mustangs look AND sound. My brother had one, an 06 GT.
It sounded amazing with the stock exhaust and drove fine.. AND not one day went by without people smiling. Must've been a people's car.. With that said, if it was my daily driver, I'd probably get the 335i as the bmw is just that much more refined and civilized. The BMW is sleek, the Mustang is mean. Get both? good luck with your choice. btw - if you understand German..

I like the look of the GT500 but it's a giant pig that's only good in a straight line. I blew the doors off one a couple of weeks back on the highway where it's supposed to be really good. We ran from 70-140 and I was at least 7-8 CL's up on him when I backed out of it.
If all you care about is straight line power, buy the GT500. If you want a great all-around car, buy a C6 Corvette. Seriously though, I think you'd be happier with the 335i. |

MSRP is up there I believe, but dealers were unloading 2007's for WAY under MSRP/invoice late last year.

My MSRP was ~$58k.........purchase price was $45k. There is a few threads if you do a search. Those deals are gone this year. Lately I haven't seen ANY at the several dealerships around where I live.

The dealer markup for the GT500 is substantial. You'll be paying close to M3 territory for the Mustang, since production is limited. The 335i would be much more inexpensive.

That's interesting. I was just at my local Ford dealership inquiring about the GT-500, not the KR version, and they said it would be somewhere between 70 and 80K, which is about 20-25K above MSRP.

I think dealer markups are more common in CA.
