The KISS principal worked in my Favor

Bought a Ducati ST3 that the previous owner (brother) didn't want to spend the money to get repaired. The repair shop wanted $1,500 to replace the clutch and slave cylinder due to not going into gear with out stalling. Also had a coolant leak from 2 hoses. I tried telling my brother that I didn't think it sounded like what was wrong since he had been driving it when it just died randomly and was like a switch being thrown when place into gear.

Got it to my place by trailer and took me all but 30 secs to find the issue. Blown kick stand fuse! Shop supposedly check all electrics but doesn't seem so after all. The fuse break was almost impossible to see since it was blown going almost into the blade, never seen that before. The kickstand switch had coolant running into it causing the issue.

Fixed the coolant leak...loose clamps...fixed the wiring and fuse and perfection. No cost to repair and just $1,000 for the purchase and she's ready to go. Offered to sell it back to my brother and he said keep it since he wants a dirt bike instead.

Anyway, I kept it simple and found the issue. Also goes to show not to always trust what repair shops tell you. This was at the "best" shop in the area and who specializes in Ducati. Needless to say my brother gave them a call and is now wondering how many thousands he has wasted there through the years.

Now I just need to get a motorcycle license and not kill myself

Cincinnati. The fuse is in a row between the fuel tank and the instrument cluster. Super simple and even marked kickstand lol. So crazy no body looked more closely or used a light on it.

Thanks, pretty excited!
