Question for all former/current 350z owners
Can you post your experiences with the car? Good and bad. Whether or not it had a S/C or TT and how hard it was to maintain it? One of my soldiers wants one and I don't really know what to tell him. Thanks.

I had a 350z and loved it. At first I installed a Vortech Supercharger but I then wanted more power. Next I installed a single turbo kit from Turbonetics it made 400 RWHP with only 8lb of boost. It was a fun car that got many looks. I would recommend if someone wants a reliable 350z with FI I would look at APS for their turbo kits. They have been very reliable with their kits.
After the new 370Z comes out I will be thinking about going back to the Z. We will have to see how it looks and performs.

I had one of the first 350Z's and loved driving it. Nice tight shifter, good torque (but not like a BMW), great seats and fun as a grand tourer. I added adj. shocks which made it a little softer ride off track. Used regular gas and could get 29 highway. Took a while to get the feathering fixed and the high end radio is worthless.

i had a G35, all i can say is stay away from 2006 year coz it had a excessive oil consumption issue with the revved up motor. other than that those cars had no problems. get the VQ35HR one.. or whatever it's called (the high response producing 306 hp)

maintenance is almost nothing just upkeep really like oil changes and brakes/tires...etc perfomance wise- this car is a total package, coupe grand in mods and you have a track star, or you can go the tt route and you have a drag beast. I almost went s/c but i ended up having engine problems(oil consumption) but overall great car.

Wow Brandon, those last few pics look amazing. So far everything's been positive except for the '06 models. I've heard that the engine is uber strong once its rebuilt, so its a great tuner car although I haven't really seen many here so far.

My roommate is on his second. He wrecked his first one. He's had it for 3 years I think. Only issue he's had is with his dash pod. The one that you can toggle between showing MPH, 0-60, etc. It's finally fixed, for now anyway.
A friend of mine has one and loves it, but he's never been able to get the alignment correct. Apparently a problem for some Z owners he's told me. |

The only thing i didn't like about it was the interior, seemed like a dark basement, and all plastic. But other than that it was a great car!

I absolutely did not want to get rid of that car. It was a horrible choice I had to make, basically I had the Z, and my dad had the bmw (that I currently have). My dad had a stroke, and was left with hundreds of thousands of $$ worth of med bills, and could no longer work, so I made the choice to sell my car, and take over the payments on his car so we could keep it in the family. I figured I have my whole life to get another car, but this may be the last one my dad ever gets so I made sure I not only took it over, but made it as nice as possible. I will be leaving to go on tour with my band for about 10 months out of the year, so I wont really need a car except for when I am home, so ya |

Had one, the engine droning and impracticality as a daily driver wore on me.

I know the newer 350's are nice and they're coming out with a 370 that will have more power if you're willing to wait and get brand new.
I had an 04 350z and it was one of the earlier ones so it was still fun, but to be honest I think the car is a little unsafe (the huge blind spots). It's a fun car to drive, but it's really easy to lose sight of a car next to you. Also, I think it's a tad easy to lose control too because when I drove one I got back to our lot I was swinging the corners even though I wasn't gassing it all that much, but I'm sure that could be solved with simple sticky tires. In my opinion, I just see too many Z's now a days and I don't know about you, but I just want something more unique. |
