why don't they troubleshoot everything that affects DSC and eliminate possible defected parts one by one. if they replaced the whole unit twice already, it doesn't take a genius to figure that's not where the problem is.

hope they figure it out soon, sledge. keep us posted.

thats what i said...its obviously not the sensor...or the module...or the combination of the two...i have this terrible image in my head of some disgusting greesed up mechanic....randomly poking my car with an old rusty screw drive while picking his nose and grunting...hahahha

Car still in shop

So the techs are still confused about my DSC. They started what they call a PUMA case with BMW...anyone know what PUMA stands for?

Search on PUMA on this forum or bimmerfest, you should find it, but basically it's a german acronym meaning "we had to call tech support"

I HAVE THE VERDICT

The DSC/DTC sensor that is in my car is the wrong one...the new one for my car has the same model number....so when the car was built they installed the wrong one from the get go, i understand the mistake, i wonder why two different sensors have the same part number...the special BMWNA REP who came in today will potentially be issuing a RECALL....my cousin the SA told me i'm famous...hahaha....

I am just happy to get my car back tomorrow....finally...this X3 is no where near the quality of my 330i :rocks:

Wow, thanks for the updated 411 HoosBMW.

Did he say which cars might potentially have this problem?

My DSC sensor has never come on too and I thought this was weird. I've slide sideways just like you explained.

I've been driving an older 325is with out DSC for 12 years. So the sliding didn't freak me out at all.

I feel I have some driving experience and know the limits of a RWD, and I'm still getting used to my new 330i and want to know that my DSC is working properly.

Mine was built the week of January 13, 2006.

I hope you can get this fixed for good because DSC is a very important safety feature

the rep told my SA that it can be any e90 built...but it will be random based on what actuall part they grabbed when they built the car so its a toss up

You're kidding right?

So what you're saying is that any one of us could have a defective model and the ONLY way we'll ever know is if we somehow manage to get ourselves into a situation that would force DSC on, and in the case that you're the "lucky winner", you find out at the same exact time you wind up in a ditch or dead.

Sounds wonderful to me...

Just a suggestion, but I had a dsc problem believe or not it turned out to be a chunk of dirt stuck to the contact ring on the rear wheel speed sensor. My buddy is a tech a dealer and did all that was mentioned above with no luck. E90 is not like other models, so everything is new to everyone.

my car got a new sensor ordered and intalled and the lot car got his back.

Here is where i get pissed...they scrathced my car in two places (beyond buffing most likely) and also road rashed my right back wheel...i am taking it in tomorrow for them to replace the rim and do a full detail...they better right all this down so i don't get fucked at lease end....such a nightmare

Damn, that sucks. When I took my car in there to get it serviced, I had forgotten to tell them not to wash my car. When I got it back, they ended up scratching up my paint and putting swirls into it. Buffable, but boy... was I ticked off. I will NEVER let them wash it again, just like when I picked up my car, I told them hands off.
