Just for fun I wanted to check out some cars I liked in comparison to my existing one. It's always a bit aggravating when they just talk about HP w/o mentioning the car's weight, so I like to know this ratio since it's a better indicator of how a car should perform.

I've lusted after a 4C and always thought that its ratio would be great but according to the figures that I found online, it's only marginally better than my Z4...how could that be? Maybe the figures aren't correct, or somebody mixed up the dry/wet weights?

Another nimble car is the MX-5 RF but the ratio is lower, but it's supposed to be near the best bang-for-buck handling car out there....maybe it still is, just that straight-line is not its forte (something like 1 second slower than the other 2 cars). I think the 0-60 times for the Z4 and 4C are near identical, so the ratios there check out, but I'm still sure the 4C must handle much better since it's way lighter.

Any other insights?

Where are those numbers from, and which Z4?

The NA spec z4mc S54 motor makes 330hp and 262 ft/lb, and weighs 3230lb which is 1465kg .

That gives a .225xxxx. Hp per Kg

you probably want to use whp rather than what the manufacturer claims. some under rate some over rate.
