Playing with Emblems
I prefer a clean, minimalist look to my vehicles, so typically I remove all the model emblems. The one on G8x kidney grille, though, is adhered to a backing 'plate' which is permanently attached to the grille bar, AFAIK. As luck would have it, the 'M' from the trunk emblem is virtually the same size as the backing plate on the kidney grille. So presto -- the busy 'M4 Competition' emblem becomes a simple 'M'.

How about another photo from a little further away?
From the one you posted, to me, it appears like it is one of those instances where someone puts an M logo on a car that is clearly not an M (I.e. a 330i with an ///M badge). Yes, I know every single other detail of the vehicle gives away the fact that it really is an M4C.

As requested (same photo before clipping). But now that you mention it, if some or most people don't recognize the car for what it is, all the better. Those who know, will know. And those who don't know or care will let me fly under the radar as intended. If I could have removed the grille emblem entirely, I would have.

It's a Ronin thing .. or in geopolitical terms, "walk softly and carry a big stick." Most people of means around here are humble and discreet to a fault, like the owner of the only E63S Wagon in town. He specced his in silver, chrome trim and zero badges.
But hey -- you do you. That's why BMW offers 3 body styles, 3 drivetrains, several rims, umpteen color combinations, etc. |

I thought I remembered seeing somebody write that the badge could be popped off the grill bar, like it was clipped on. No dice? Was hoping to do the same. Looks better without the competition up front there, but it does look a little bigger too. Maybe just the angle, hard to tell

I'm fine with that. No one's ever given my Audemars Piguet a second glance. I live in Hagerty's hometown, so there's a robust gearhead community, especially in summertime. It's the other 95% of the driving population whose attention I'd rather not attract. (I also live in the U.S. congressional district with the highest percentage of new truck vs. car registrations.)

Thanks. Kennel for the dogs (Airedales). They have plenty of space to roam about, and we humans have enough headroom to keep it clean. They retreat there any time we leave the house, so it's part of their routine. Prime viewing spot if we're working in the garage or the yard, too. Kennel measures 6' x 6' x 12' (if I recall).

Playing with emblems continues (done for now). Added simple ///M on air breathers, plus CCA grille badge to display the team colors. Will take better photos when car's clean and lighting's better.

Yeah, I’m not committed to the CCA badge (25+ year member but no as active). It comes off and on in 2 minutes, so I might reserve it for the rare Clib events I attend. I’m a ‘less is more’ kind of guy. We’ll see.

Front grill one looks OK but side one not so much especially in chrome. What does the side one look like without an emblem?
+1 loose the BMW CCA OT How easy is it to get rid of those stupid stickers in the head lights?
