iX Orders for US Customers - Post Your Build Sheet
Our SA entered our order yesterday so I thought it would be nice to see how others configured their final builds. If you live in the US and placed an order, please post your build sheet.
Here is mine: |

I was trying to figure out the difference between yours and the one we have ordered (11th week delivery - yahooo!). we got the same color, but 22" wheels, Amido Leather, no bronze exterior. I think that is it. It looks like this: https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...4zsw7g/summary - My build sheet is on my desk at home.

Here's the build info my SA sent:
I'm trying to decide if I want to add 5AZ. It's not clear to me if the standard headlights are Adaptive. The launch material that Yobyot posted only mentions this: "The BMW iX is fitted as standard with full-LED headlights." I have a call into BMW Genius to get clarity on whether the standard headlights are Adaptive.

If the regular LED lights are adaptive, then I'm sure you'll be happy too. |

I also want to know if the standard LED head light has the corner light or not. From all the photo I saw at Internet, seems just Laser head light has corner light...

I ordered this: https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...7sqmmh/summary
I dutifully placed my deposit months ago. When the US online configurator launched, I generated a build code and sent it to my SA (with whom I have good history) to place an order. My SA is a senior guy at one of the largest LA dealerships. He assures me the order is in the system, yet despite my requests for a build sheet or some sort of confirmation of the order, I have received nothing. I am trying not to cross the line to become a pita. Still, I wish I could shake the feeling that I am waiting for Godot…..! |

Here is my design build.
I couldn't decide whether or not to order the 22" summer tires or not. The performance tires look really great, but better safe than sorry. We have very little snow here in MD, but decided to stay with the 21" wheels that comes with the Sport package.
I was told that Aventurin Red wiil delay my delivery by 10 weeks. I love my 2020 X5, so I can wait. https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...mujst5/summary |

Me three, the 22's look great but staggered performance tires are not a good fit for PA compared to all-season tires. And the all-season 21's will last longer and cost less to replace.

I see the "Passenger Lumbar Delete" credit on most (all?) build sheets. What's up with that? Why wouldn't you want lumbar support in the passenger seat?

Is everyone here paying full MSRP or MSRP +? If not, could anyone provide some experience of negotiating? Would be especially interested if you're located in San Francisco Bay Area!

I've heard from my local dealership near NYC that if ordering today, I could probably get one by July. Does that sound reasonable or is this guy blowing smoke up my butt?
Also, I'm going to assume you guys are leasing given the uncertainty about depreciation and how quickly the EV landscape is changing. Did your SA give you any estimate as to what the residual will be on the vehicle for 36 months at 10k or 12k miles/year? The timing of this vehicle is a bit weird for me. I have a Tesla Model Y performance on order for mid-March and a Rivian R1S for 2H23 (we'll see if that is even closed to being correct). I suspect the Model Y will be a large downgrade vs. my X5 M50I in terms of luxury and suspension. 0-60 and 1/4 times (if that even matters) is not that dissimilar to my X5 m50i. So I'm intrigued by the IX but on the other hand I plan to drive this 3x a week into NYC and worry this vehicle will be too large and too expensive to justify as a city car (which is why I started down the path of Model Y and then I'll give X5 M50I to wife to use during the week and as our nice weekend car). So maybe this will be the car I purchase instead of the Rivian R1S (and perhaps by then there will actually be discounts to be had as the supply chain eases). |

I was able to place a pre-order before they closed that door and I still don't have a build date. My SA told me another customer pre-ordered within minutes of it going live last summer and he has a March build date. I don't expect my iX will be built before June. So anyone ordering after the pre-orders closed is likely looking at a Fall 2022 delivery at best.

One SA said they don't even take orders and won't do so until probably May-June, and delivery will most likely be end of the year. The 2nd said they do take orders, but deliveries won't be coming until Q4 this year, maybe December. Sounds like if you didn't pre order, you're in for a wait. |

So perhaps this advisor was BS'ing me. May have to try another dealership. When I asked about lead times on X3/X5 he said that they could get those within six weeks because they are made in the US and are not having the same supply chain issues as the sedans. Wondering what the truth is here.
