New EastSide Seattle M owner
Hello all been a happy owner of a 2017 M2 for about a month now and figured I should introduce myself and the beautiful beast in the garage. Are there any WA or Seattle Facebook groups I should join to get mor involved in the community?

Welcome. There's a Seattle M's FB group. Also recommend joining the Puget Sound BMW Car Club if you haven't already. They hose driving events such as skills training, HPDE (track days) and touring drives throughout the year.

Welcome. I don’t do Facebook but I have been a long time member of BMWCCA. The Pugetr Sound Region is quite active.
One thought to ponder is ton stay away from BMW Bellevue for your service. Strickly BMW is a much better alternative. https://www.strictlybmw.com/ By the way joining BMWCCA gets you a 10% discount on parts and labor at all three BMW dealers and many independent shops like Strickly BMW. |

Congrats and welcome. Looks like you picked up this car from the BMW Seattle showroom, yeah? I remember seeing it there in December.

I wish the exhaust didn't have a loud vibration on cold start though. Last edited by Vog; 02-10-2022 at 01:44 AM.. |

Been taking it to German Car Specialists since they are really close to work, but used Strictly BMW a few times when I needed work done before a trackday and couldn't get an appointment at German Car Specialists. I liked the experience at both shops. |

The M stripes can be removed if you ever feel the urge. They are just vinyl decals. You may need to cut and polish after depending on if there is a visible difference in the clear coat where they were since they were applied likely shortly after the car was built. The exhaust rattle on start up should be able to be fixed. There are threads on it here on BimmerPost. Great spec though, congrats. Looking forward to seeing it around.

Turns out the exhaust rattle was due to faulty clips and it's being addressed by the dealership. There are some other issues with the front rotors being warped that I'm working with the dealership on. I wanted to do a visual inspection prior to purchase but apparently the service center wasn't excited about providing that service when an inspection was already completed when they took the car in to begin with. Hopefully I can get that sorted out before the beginning of track season. |

This is a great tip, thanks! I've been mulling over joining a local SF Bay Area BMWCCA chapter but had been kinda putting it off. This ups the priority for me for sure!
