Got an EV and are still alive?

It's just a matter of time before you're burned to death.

There are 2 types of motorcycle riders:
Those who have been down
Those who are waiting their (next) turn

After the initial huge outlay running costs are low but when the car ages it will be worthless with the sell by date for the LB's approaching. There's also the fire risk as mentioned seemingly just parked up and accident may happen out of the blue anytime with the car apparently just wanting to crash beyond your control.
The fast accelerate thrill will diminish as time goes on and the government tales on pollution making folks buy these things are all based on lies from greenie analysts.

Its only a matter of time before NHTSA and others catch up and begin to mandate better battery enclosure designs that provide fire breaks and protection from thermal overrun. it's not a difficult problem to solve. Besides, we all got comfortable lugging around 20 gallons of highly explosive liquid in plastic jugs strapped precariously to the undersides of our vehicles and having the same battery tech packaged into our mobil devices, sitting in our pockets, mere inches from our balls.

stop with that logical thought process and reasoning. That's not what forums are for.

I know, I know. I better just light myself on fire now before my wife's Nissan Leaf does it for me.

I'm far from a Greenpeace hippy or a proponent of killing off ICEs, but I have to say, the wife's Leaf is the vehicle of choice for me for short to moderate trips around the city. Sure, it has the excitement of driving an appliance, but damn if it's not comfortable, easy to drive, and has been dead on reliable for 65,000 miles and 8 years. We've done the prescribed battery conditioning twice. A set of tires. Wiper blades and a cabin air filter. And that's literally it. Nothing more. Battery capacity is still 95% of what it was when new. It's a flawless little car, looks aside.

Battery tech still has a lot of room for improvement. And it will, with the rise in popularity comes more R&D funding. Whether its overheat protection, manufacturing processes, materials used, weight, etc. etc.
