Seattle Bumper Spray Question
Hope you guys don’t mind me posting here… the F8X PNW sub-thread is super dead. So I got a quote to have two fresh F80 bumpers sprayed and assembled onto my car from a local favorite body shop (one that I actually really want to work with), however, they quoted me $4k just for paint and labor. That sounds pretty steep based on my prior experience with bumper resprays in other, more expensive markets. If I’m honest I was expecting $1-1.2k all-in per bumper (also substantiated by other quotes I’ve gotten here). Am I just out of touch? Genuinely asking

Just waiting on another couple quotes from comparable shops - I’m not necessarily price sensitive but $2k per bumper just seems pretty high by gut feel. If that really is what a high end shop charges in the Seattle area then it is what it is.

Anyway, the shop I went with has exceeded all my expectations thus far from a touchpoint and process perspective and is exactly in the $1,700 range. They've been very communicative, invited me to check out some of the matches they formulated and meet the painter, and have come off like they really care about doing a great job throughout the process so far. ///M TOWN knows this shop well I'm excited to see the finished result tomorrow/Friday.

Just following up on this - went to Queen City. The 2 bumper job was $1700 and had them do a couple more things and spend more time on the match process. Communication, responsiveness, and client service were all A+ for me. I’m not a difficult customer by any means, just have certain aspects of a spray job that I like to optimize on and QCAR was happy to meet me there. Pretty much got a 95% match on the bumpers which I’m happy about - within the factory differential I would say. Plus they had never worked on LRG, so it’s pretty good considering it was their first time - I wasn’t freaked out by this because I bet the very vast majority of BMW approved body shops have not even seen LRG, let alone worked on it. Anyway - before and after below, as context the car I bought had a terrible respray done that slipped thru the PPI process.
Came highly recommended by ///M TOWN, so thank you again
