Same, but I really liked my S2000 cluster. I also loved the fact that there were no lights anywhere else at all, and the radio had a cover, so the focus was on just that one area.

And the lighting just makes them IMO. It might be hard to read, but I could not care less.

Those gauges are just gorgeous. Makes me want to buy an Aston Martin so I can stare at them every time I drive it.

I wanted a Vantage V8 so bad I could taste it, but wanted something a bit more youthful in appearance because I don't look quite old enough to be getting out of an Aston, so I chose the M2. No regrets at all, but I still love the Vantages. Maybe one day.

i dont mind the digital dash, but i wish theyd allow you to customize it some more. Like add some things i actually care about like boost, afr, etc.

CHR looks and feels like a toy. Well, so far best option seems Ford Mustang base version with half minimal size digital cluster and basic infotainment system. But this is not good option either as its entire plastic interior feels very cheap… so still would like to see if there is any quality car with minimal digital displays.

looks like i'm in the minority, but i like the digital dashes

i wouldn't go around retrofitting one to an older car but i'd have it as a criteria when buying a car made in the last 6-7 years. i'm definitely spoiled by how well it's integrated nowadays though, i like that i can see what's playing, where i'm going, and how fast i'm going at a simple glance instead of looking at 3 different places. if anything, im looking forward to a time where it's fully customizable and i'm not locked to a few layouts (though i doubt that'll ever happen). i'd love to have other stuff than, say, a fuel gauge or the rev counter

i'd rather complain/"long" for the build quality. friend picked up an E39 M5 recently and holy shit, what a solid car. my G20 does not feel like that. I couldn't care less about the dials, or the lack of iDrive, or how cramped it felt compared to my G20 inside, or the useless cupholders, lack of bluetooth etc there's a LOT that the car is missing by being 20 years old, but that car just felt more solid.

on one hand it's amazing how much stuff has changed, my G20 has lighter feeling doors and is probably safer than the ones on the E39, but it almost feels like the $100 home depot cardboard doors compared to the solid wood doors of the E39...

Genesis line has analog gauges.

Customers who are serial leasess are easily distracted by screens because they've spent most of their life glued to tech (smartphones / computers) and upgrading has been habitualized.
